In 2017, Chefs Gerald Addison and Chris Morgan teamed up with restaurateur and owner, Rose Previte, to open Maydān in D.C.’s Cardozo neighborhood.

Maydān, which means "town square” in Arabic was conceived and designed by Chef Gerald Addison over a three-week journey through Morocco, Tunisia, Turkey, Georgia and Lebanon. Chef Chris Morgan first fell in love with food from the Middle East and Iran as a kid growing up in Northern Virginia, where there was a large community of people from that region. Together they will specially curate this Inside Access from Chase evening as guests explore the food and culture with shared plates from this rich region of the globe.

The evening will begin with a cocktail and hors d’oeuvres reception downstairs surrounding Maydān’s live-fire hearth. Following the reception guests will be escorted upstairs to dine on the balcony where they will be seated for a four-course wine paired dinner. In keeping with the style of the restaurant, the menu will feature a selection of Chefs Addison and Morgan’s favorite items served family style.

During the evening guests will have an opportunity to meet Chefs Addison and Morgan and hear first-hand about their culinary journey and the inspiration behind the restaurant.

Since Maydān opened in November 2017, it has received rave reviews and accolades including the James Beard Foundation Nomination for Best New Restaurant 2018; Food & Wine Best Restaurants of 2018; Bon Appetit: Top 50 Nominees for America’s Best New Restaurants 2018 and No. 2 Best Restaurant in America 2018.
