Bill Nye

Bill Nye, American science educator, engineer, comedian, television presenter, author, and inventor, will lead families through a virtual science class. During this interactive event, Bill will conduct five different demonstrations as Cardmembers follow along at home for two of the demonstrations. Bill, also known as “Bill Nye the Science Guy®,” will share his passion for science through lessons highlighting the building blocks of life and climate change. Recommended for families with children 8 years or older.

The At Home Science Kit included with the experience provides an advance copy of Bill’s new book, Bill Nye’s Great Big World of Science; an 80-page illustrated interactive book with Bill Nye leading the way through 30 projects and experiments, a Bill Nye Funko Pop! figure and early access to Bill’s upcoming VR Science Kit. The VR Kit features exclusive VR goggles that, with the help of a mobile smart phone, take users on an immersive Virtual Reality tour, with Nye teaching about science from his actual lab.

Bill Nye is a man with a mission: to help foster a scientifically literate society and to help people everywhere understand and appreciate the science that makes our world work. He fights to raise awareness of climate change and the value of critical thinking, science and reason. He is best known for hosting Bill Nye the Science Guy, the award-winning educational program that was born out of his writing and performance on a Seattle comedy show. As an educator and mechanical engineer, Bill has been making science entertaining and accessible, and encouraging his audiences to foster a sense of curiosity about their surroundings.

Bill currently speaks at colleges regularly and discusses a variety of topical science matters on news and television programs such as ABC World News, NBC Nightly News, CNN, Good Morning America, MSNBC, TODAY, CBS This Morning, The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, and more. Bill is the subject of a Netflix documentary called Bill Nye: Science Guy which premiered at SXSW in 2017. The documentary follows Nye as he takes off his Science Guy lab coat and takes on those who deny climate change, evolution, and a science-based world view. He also hosts the Netflix series, Bill Nye Saves the World, where he brings experts and famous guests to his lab for a talk show exploring scientific issues that touch our lives.
